Be Prepared
A packet will require your whole team to work together. The housing application process has multiple steps.
- Planning and preparing (apply for SSI and Section 8).
- Update the Life Plan to reflect the decision to live independently.
- Save for the move, consider an ABLE account.
- Preliminary Housing Request (Budget, Life Plan, Attachment C, SNAP, HEAP, DDP2).
- Searching for the place (get a lease, renter's insurance, utility estimate).
- Final Housing Request (Apartment walk-through, Housing Agreement, lease, utility, renter's insurance, budget, Life Plan, SNAP, HEAP, SSI, Section 8, Staff action plans, broker agreement).
